Generators

Mission Critical Group has industrial generators for sale for a variety of mission critical operations. Choosing the right equipment is critical for your power supply, and in most cases, your company’s revenue and reputation as well. Data centers, hospitals, laboratories, call centers, and oil and gas operations are just some of the facilities that require reliable uninterrupted power supplies.

Our selection of industry-renowned power generators and our relationships with manufacturers provide you with the reliability and durability you need for continuous operation at a competitive price.

Types & Brands of Generators

Generators are made for prime, continuous or standby power, and some are built for all three purposes. Continuous and prime generators are mainly needed in remote locations where they will be the primary or only source of power. The difference between the two is that prime generators are designed to operate at a variable load while continuous generators operate at a consistent load. Because these generators operate continually, they are usually more expensive than standby generators and are generally more durable, as they have to tolerate the friction and heat derived from continuous operation. We carry continuous, prime and backup generators. First consider which type of generator will be necessary for your operations.

Our selection of generators includes both diesel and gas from a variety of reliable manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Cummins, MTU Onsite Energy and more. These gas and diesel generators are among some of the best in the world, and they are built for maximum efficiency and low energy consumption. MTU Onsite Energy has been doing business for over 100 years and Cummins has been in the diesel engine industry since 1919. Caterpillar has been in business for a similar period, over 90 years. These brands set a standard of excellence and durability in the power generator industry, and we stand behind the products we offer from these manufacturers.

ATS

Mission Critical Group (MCG) sells automatic transfer switches (ATS) for generators used in mission critical operations. There are both manual and automatic options, but for data centers and most industrial facilities, an automatic transfer switch is the most practical option. Automatic power transfer switches can detect when generators are ready to provide power and when the switch must be made. In complex electrical setups, multiple transfer switches may be needed to direct power to particular mission critical circuits or electrical (sub)panels. Transfer switches can be made to prioritize heating and/or cooling equipment, and can be set up to strategically distribute power among generators. We sell a variety of ATS equipment made by top manufacturers in the industry at competitive prices.

  • Cummins OTEC ATS
  • Cummins OTPC ATS
  • Thomson TS 870 ATS
  • Thomson TS 880 ATS

Types & Brands of ATS Equipment

There are several types of automatic transfer switches that distribute power, including standard, bypass-isolation, and service-entrance configurations. They can be programmed to function with open, closed, or programmed power transitions. An open transfer switch breaks contact with one power source before tapping into another. This prevents backfeeding, but this might not be the best choice for every facility, as it does mean a loss of power, even if only for a sixth of a second.

When power cannot be lost whatsoever, a closed transition transfer switch may be appropriate. This switch operates when both sources are synchronized. Permission may need to be acquired from normal power suppliers/utility companies to use this sort of switch as it does involve having a generator and a utility power operate at the same time, if only for a split second. Programmed, or delayed transfer, is another option for automatic transfer switches. These provide the added functionality needed to control the speed of the switch operation and allow residual voltage to decay.

Mission Critical Group sells automatic transfer switches from trusted brands like Eaton, Caterpillar, MTU onsite and more. Our selection is both comprehensive and reliable. With collective decades of experience working with backup power equipment, we have learned which products are the best of the best.

Why buy Transfer Switches from Mission Critical Group?

With our years of experience working with data center and mission critical equipment, we can help you choose the best transfer switches for your facilities. Our factory-certified technicians will also install your new automatic transfer switches and take any old ones off your hands. We have been buying and selling data center equipment for years, and we offer competitive pricing. In addition to selling backup power equipment, we are service providers that maintain and repair your generators, transfer switches, UPS systems and other power equipment. Static Transfer Switches (STSs)

Mission Critical Group Is Proud to Buy & Resell the Following Static Transfer Switches.

If you are interested in buying or selling any of the listed STSs, please contact us with your inquiry.

  • Delta Rack-Mount Static Transfer Switch 30A
  • Eaton PDI TFA Static Transfer Switch
  • Eaton PDI Static Transfer Switch
  • ABB Cyberex SuperSwitch 4 STS(s)
  • Delta Static Transfer Switch 1800 A
  • Delta Rack-Mount Static Transfer Switch 16A

Types of Transfer Switches

When it comes to transfer switches, there are two primary types: static transfer and automatic transfer. While automatic transfer switches are designed to transfer power from a main source to a secondary system, such as a generator, they can take 100 milliseconds or more to switch over. This delay can pose problems when working with sensitive electronic equipment under large electrical loads. In contrast, static transfer switches, with their absence of moving parts, offer significantly faster power transfer, making them the ideal choice for situations where continuous electrical power is crucial.

STS(s) Classes

STSs are classified into two categories based on their size and application scope. Large STSs are deployed in extremely critical settings where uninterrupted power is a necessity. These include industries such as telecommunications, air traffic control, data storage, and heavy industries. The sensitive nature of these applications necessitates the use of static transfer switch systems equipped with multiple status checkers to ensure continuous functionality.

Smaller rackmount STSs have the same internal architecture as large ones. The only difference is that their smaller size makes them mobile and more appropriate for point-of-use applications. This increased mobility also enhances their reliability, as you can place them closer to the electrical load. Many elements between a large STS and the power load, including feeders, operators, and distribution panels, can fail. A smaller and more mobile static transfer switch can help avoid failure, as it can always be placed close to the load.

Why buy Static Transfer Switches from Mission Critical Group?

With our extensive experience in critical infrastructure equipment, we are well-equipped to guide you in choosing the most suitable transfer switches for your needs. Our knowledgeable staff can handle the installation of your new STSs and the removal of your old equipment. We are committed to fostering long-term relationships with our customers, providing ongoing support and maintenance services for your generators, UPS systems, transfer switches, or any other power or critical infrastructure equipment. UPS and Batteries

An uninterruptible power supply or a UPS is a system that protects data centers and equipment from temporary power outages and power surges. UPS systems contain a battery backup system that stores incoming AC power for use when your electric power supply falters. Your equipment can then run off of DC power for a short time. Once the power comes back on, the batteries are recharged. Industrial UPS systems protect your servers, computers and other IT equipment from inconsistent voltage that can damage your equipment or cause it to malfunction.

When the electricity goes out completely, UPS systems provide backup power in those crucial moments before your generator kicks in. If your equipment isn’t protected in those few minutes beforehand, it can be costly to your organization, causing you to lose time, money and vital information. UPS systems allow you the valuable time necessary to save information and shut down your equipment, or wait until the generator power kicks in. Mission Critical Group sells a variety of the industry’s best UPS power supply systems to protect data centers and mission critical facilities.

Types of UPS Systems

UPS systems are often referred to as double conversion, single conversion or multi-mode systems. Some UPS systems have the capability to operate in multiple modes. Single conversion UPS systems are more efficient, but they don’t provide the same level of protection. Standby UPS systems are single conversion systems, and they are generally the most practical option for small applications. Double conversion systems, due their higher level of protection, are usually the standard for mission critical facilities. Multi-mode UPS systems are more expensive, but they allow for a combination of both efficiency and a high level of protection.

We sell all these types of industrial UPS systems from a variety of reputable brands, including Eaton, APC, Mitsubishi and more. Eaton is a company that has been in business for 100 years, and their award-winning equipment has made them a leader in the UPS industry for over 40 years. APC is also an award-winning American company that has been in the business for over 40 years. We are proud to offer some of the world’s best UPS systems from these innovative and reliable brands at competitive prices, including:
