The overall objective of the CNC Brake Machine Operator, 2nd class position is to engage in all activities concerned with producing parts by operating a CNC brake machine, and ensure that jobs are completed and shipped as scheduled while meeting our quality standards. Ü Retrieving the parts list, and applicable CNC programs in order to create parts as needed per job. Ü Loading materials onto the machine in preparation for punch or break, and safely securing materials on the machine with the use of clamps, fingers or other fixtures. Ü Coordinating with the 1st class CNC Machine Operator to enter commands or make adjusts to machine controls to correct errors, especially while operating the break press. Ü Monitoring machines and control panel displays to ensure machines are operating correctly. Ü Using tools, such as calipers and protractors, to measure finished products to ensure they meet requirements. Ü Staging parts as completed in order to prepare for the next phase of fabrication. Ü Performing scheduled and repair maintenance of machines, as required. This also includes maintaining, sharpening and replacing tools, as necessary. Ü Maintaining a safe, clean, well-organized work area. Ü Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required. Ü Training with 1st class CNC Machine Operators to develop the skills and learn how to operate both machines. Must be available to work swing/night shift when assigned.
