Job Description
Mission Critical Facilities International (MCFI), a rapidly growing equipment sales, service, and power systems integrator, seeks an experienced Project Accountant to work at its beautiful corporate headquarters in Austin, TX.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of projects from setup through completion
- Provide monthly report showing actual vs. bid vs. current forecast
- Calculate POC and make entries to accurately reflect revenue, WIP, and over/under billings
- Provide analysis of variance vs. initial bid to operations and work with them to continuously improve the bid process's accuracy, ensuring all costs are included in the estimate and required gross margins are being met
- Prepare and distribute job reports before weekly operations review meetings, with questions and analysis provided before the meetings
- Review payroll and expenses charged to jobs and make necessary corrections
- Record/review monthly PO and Non-PO entries impacting jobs
- Work with project managers to ensure accurate costs at completion are maintained in the system
- Ensure completed projects are fully costed and closed in a timely manner
- Make necessary accruals to record revenue and costs in the correct accounting period
- Update revenue and cost estimates for all change orders
- Prepare job invoices
- Work with management to resolve AR issues around project billings
- Maintain deposit accounts
Requirements
- 4+ years of related project accounting experience, including POC accounting
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet tight deadlines
- BS in Accounting; CPA or MBA preferred
- This is an on-site position in the Austin area
